Congress is fielding Priya Dutt from Mumbai North Central once more in hopes of wresting the seat again this election.

Dutt, a two-time MP from the constituency, misplaced to BJP’s Poonam Mahajan in 2014. 

Sneha Kale, a transgender activist, and Dr AR Anjaria of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi are also contesting from this seat.

Dutt’s father Sunil Dutt was once a Union minister within the UPA executive led by way of Manmohan Singh. Her mom, actress Nargis, was once a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Her brother, actor Sanjay Dutt has been campaigning for her in Mumbai.

Mumbai North Central has 17 lakh electorate, which come with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

Dutt, who was once reluctant to contest this election, mentioned she determined to contest after a dialog with Congress president Rahul Gandhi, CNBC TV18 reported.
