Kerala Votes Today; Rahul Gandhi, Kummanam Rajasekharan, Shashi Tharoor In Fray


THIRUVANANTHAPURAM — Balloting started for all 20 Lok Sabha constituencies of Kerala on Tuesday through which Congress president Rahul Gandhi, BJP’s Kummanam Rajasekharan and two-time sitting MP Shashi Tharoor are key applicants.

Enthusiastic citizens queued at a number of cubicles even prior to 7 am when the polling formally started for the 3rd segment of the continuing Lok Sabha polls.

Applicants PK Kunhalikutty (Malappuram), M Ok Premachandran (Kollam), Hibi Eden (Ernakulam) and Blameless (Chalakudy) have been a few of the early citizens. 

9 MLAs, 13 sitting MPs and two former celebration district secretaries, and two actors are contesting the polls within the state.

The 3 main fronts― ruling CPI(M)-led LDF, Opposition Congress headed UDF and the BJP-NDA have nominated 6 ladies applicants.

A complete of 227 applicants are within the fray, together with 23 ladies within the 20 constituencies.

Wayanad constituency from the place Rahul Gandhi is contesting, but even so his pocket borough Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, has the utmost collection of applicants― 20 and the bottom are in Alathur in Palakkad district (6).

There are a complete of two.61 crore citizens― 1,26,81,992 men, 1,34,64,688 ladies and 173 3rd gender citizens.

The power of first time citizens in Kerala is two.88 lakh within the age workforce of 18-19.

The polling will finish at 6pm within the 24,970 polling stations.
