Manoj Tiwari Draws Flak For Wearing Military Fatigues To BJP Rally


NEW DELHI — Delhi BJP leader Manoj Tiwari has drawn flak for attending a birthday celebration rally in New Delhi in army fatigues.

Tiwari flagged off a BJP motorcycle rally within the Yamuna Vihar house in his North East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday dressed in army fatigues.

Drawing flak, Tiwari tweeted on Sunday, “I wore (it) just because I felt happy with my Military. It’s not that i am in Indian military however I used to be expressing my feeling of team spirit. Why will have to or not it’s handled like an insult? I’ve the perfect regard for our Military. By means of (this) common sense, the next day to come if I put on a Nehru Jacket, will or not it’s an insult to Jawaharlal Nehru?”

Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien stated it was once a “shameless act” on Tiwari’s phase.

“Shameless. Shameless. Shameless. Manoj Tewari BJP MP and Delhi President dressed in Armed Forces uniform and looking for votes. BJP-Modi-Shah insulting and politicising our jawans. After which giving lectures on patriotism. Low lifestyles,” he tweeted, focused on Top Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
